How it works
The conversion uses the exact definition of the US customary cup: 1 cup = 236.5882365 mL. To convert cups to millilitres you multiply by that factor; to go the other way you divide by it:
millilitres = cups × 236.5882 · cups = millilitres ÷ 236.5882
Note this is the US customary cup. A metric cup is 250 mL, so make sure you know which standard your recipe uses.
