Destiny 2 XP & Level Calculator

See how much XP you need to reach the next Destiny 2 level

Input your current Season Pass level and XP progress in Destiny 2 to see exactly how much experience remains until the next level and your target level, with time estimates for common XP-farming methods.

How much XP does each Destiny 2 level take?

After the early ramp, each Season Pass level in Destiny 2 requires a flat 100,000 XP. The tool uses this 100k-per-level value so the remaining-XP figure matches what the in-game progress bar fills.

Destiny 2 Season Pass levelling is a straightforward XP grind once you are past the early ramp, but the totals add up fast. This calculator tells you exactly how much XP stands between you and your target level, and how long that takes by different farming methods.

How it works

Above the early levels each Season Pass level costs a flat amount of XP, so the remaining XP is the gap left in your current level plus the full cost of every level after it:

xpPerLevel    = 100000
remainingNow  = xpPerLevel − xpIntoCurrentLevel
fullLevels    = targetLevel − currentLevel − 1
xpRemaining   = remainingNow + fullLevels × xpPerLevel
hours         = xpRemaining / xpPerHour

The XP-per-hour figure is what separates a quick climb from a long grind, which is why bounty stacking and double-XP windows matter so much.

Example and tips

Sitting at level 30 with 40,000 XP into it and aiming for level 40 leaves 60,000 to finish the current level plus nine full levels at 100,000 each — 960,000 XP in total. At a strong farming rate that is a few hours; in casual play it is many more. Save your bounty turn-ins for double-XP events and stack weekly challenges to roughly double your effective rate.
