What is the hotel tax rate in Fresno?

The room rate you see online is not the price you pay. In Fresno, a 10.84% transient occupancy tax (TOT) is added to every taxable night, and many hotels layer on a tourism district assessment plus flat resort or destination fees. This calculator stacks all of those charges so you can budget the true cost of your stay.

How it works

The tool applies the percentage taxes to the room rate, adds any flat nightly fee, and multiplies by nights:

percent tax/night = room rate * (10.84% TOT + TBID%) / 100
total tax/night = percent tax/night + flat nightly fee
grand total = (room rate + total tax/night) * nights

The 10.84% TOT is the core city tax. The optional TBID percentage covers tourism marketing assessments charged by participating hotels, and the flat nightly fee captures mandatory resort or destination charges that some properties add separately.

Tips and example

A 130 nightly rate for 3 nights with a 2% tourism assessment and no resort fee carries 14.09 TOT plus 2.60 TBID per night — about 16.69 per night, or 50.08 in total tax. The grand total comes to roughly 440.08. Add a flat nightly resort fee to see it raise both the per-night and grand-total figures. Always confirm the exact line items on your hotel folio.
