This calculator shows the real cost of a Mesa, Arizona hotel stay once occupancy taxes are added. Mesa’s combined lodging tax is about 12.57%, blending the Arizona state transaction privilege tax, the Maricopa County tax, and the City of Mesa transient lodging (bed) tax.
How it works
Occupancy tax applies to the room charge for each night:
tax per night = nightly rate * 0.1257
total tax = tax per night * nights
room subtotal = nightly rate * nights
grand total = room subtotal + total tax
Example
A $130/night room for 3 nights: tax per night is 130 * 0.1257 = $16.34, total
tax $49.02, room subtotal $390.00, and a grand total of about $439.02.
Notes
The effective 12.57% combines state TPT, Maricopa County tax, and the City of Mesa transient lodging tax. Mandatory resort fees are usually taxable in Arizona, so fold them into the room rate. This is an estimate; your folio’s exact line items may vary by property.
