Omaha Minimum Wage & Overtime Calculator

Calculate Omaha hourly and weekly pay with overtime and tip credit.

Computes Omaha weekly pay from an editable hourly minimum (defaulting to $7.25), applies time-and-a-half overtime for hours over 40 per week, and checks the Nebraska tipped-worker rule where cash wage plus tips must reach the full minimum.

What is the minimum wage in Omaha?

This tool defaults to $7.25 per hour as an editable reference, but Nebraska voters approved a schedule that has raised the state minimum well above that figure. Override the rate field with the current Nebraska statutory minimum for your pay period.

Calculate Omaha minimum wage and overtime

This calculator converts an hourly rate and weekly hours into gross weekly pay, applying federal time-and-a-half overtime above 40 hours and the Nebraska tipped-worker rule. The hourly rate defaults to the $7.25 federal floor as an editable starting point — override it with Nebraska’s current statutory minimum, which has risen above that level under a voter-approved schedule.

How it works

The tool splits your hours at the 40-hour weekly line and pays the overtime portion at 1.5 times the base rate:

regular hours = min(hours, 40)
overtime hours = max(hours - 40, 0)
regular pay = regular hours * rate
overtime pay = overtime hours * rate * 1.5
gross weekly = regular pay + overtime pay

For tipped workers, it adds your average hourly tips to the cash wage. If cash wage plus tips still falls below the full minimum, the employer owes the shortfall on your regular hours, and the tool reports that gap.

Tips and example

At 7.25/hr for 45 hours, you earn 290 in regular pay (40 hrs) plus 54.38 in overtime (5 hrs at 1.5x), for 344.38 gross before taxes.

For a tipped worker at 2.13/hr cash plus 4.00/hr in tips, the 6.13/hr total is below the 7.25 reference minimum, so the employer must cover the difference. Always enter Nebraska’s current statutory minimum in the rate field for an accurate verdict.
