This is a distraction-free online notepad for quick notes, drafts, to-do lists, code snippets and anything else you need to jot down fast. There is no sign-up, no paywall and nothing to install — open the page and start typing.
Your notes never leave your device
Everything you type is saved straight to your browser’s local storage on your own computer or phone. Nothing is sent to a server, logged, or shared. That makes this notepad safe for sensitive things like passwords you are about to change, private journal entries, or work notes you would rather not paste into a cloud document.
The trade-off of that privacy is that notes live in one browser on one device. If you clear your browsing data, switch browsers, or open the page on another device, the note will not follow you automatically. When you need a portable copy, use Download .txt or Copy.
Live counts as you type
Underneath the editor you will always see a live word, character and line count — handy when you are writing to a limit, drafting a social post, or checking the length of a passage. The count updates instantly with every keystroke.
How the autosave works
The notepad waits a fraction of a second after you stop typing, then quietly writes the current text to local storage. There is no Save button to remember and no risk of losing work if the tab crashes or you close it by accident. The status line shows the time of the last save so you always know your work is captured.
Common uses
- A scratchpad for copying text between apps without it touching the clipboard history.
- A quick plain-text editor when you need to strip formatting out of something.
- A temporary to-do list that survives a browser restart.
- Drafting a message, caption or comment where you want a word count.
For heavier text jobs, pair the notepad with the word and character counter, the case converter for fixing capitalisation, or remove duplicate lines to tidy a list.
