A Phoenix hotel room rarely costs what the rate suggests. Multiple governments tax the same night, stacking to about 12.57% before any flat fees. This calculator rebuilds the full folio so you know the real out-the-door price before you book.
How it works
Each percentage tax applies to the room rate, then flat fees are added per night:
combined rate = state + county + city bed + city sales (≈ 12.57%)
tax per night = room rate × combined rate
night total = room rate + tax per night + flat fee
stay total = night total × nights
Keeping the four percentage components editable lets you match a specific property or district, since the exact total shifts with convention-center and tourism assessments at individual hotels.
Example and tips
A $180 room for three nights at the default 12.57% adds about $22.63 of tax
per night, or $202.63 all in — roughly $607.89 for the stay, of which about
$67.88 is tax. If your hotel charges a mandatory resort fee, enter it in the
flat-fee field, since those fees are frequently taxable in Arizona and can add
20 dollars or more per night. Always cross-check against the property’s folio
before assuming the total.
