Build the corporation that owns your dystopia
Every cyberpunk story needs a faceless conglomerate to fear. This tool generates fictional mega-corporation names that sound like they file quarterly earnings and run private armies, complete with a sector classification and a tagline dripping with menace.
How it works
The classic evil-corp name has a recognisable structure, and the generator reproduces it:
- Portmanteau brand root — a coined word fusing a sector prefix with a stem, like
OmniDyneorGenoLogix. - Hyphenated founder dyad — two coined surnames joined, in the tradition of Weyland-Yutani or Tessier-Ashpool.
- Brand plus descriptor — the root followed by a real corporate suffix:
Industries,Dynamics,Holdings,Systems,Consolidated.
The chosen sector controls the vocabulary so the name fits its business, and a matching tagline supplies the corporate doublespeak that signals exactly how dangerous the company is.
Tips and notes
- The sector is the main lever: defense names sound like ordnance, media names sound like surveillance, energy names sound like infrastructure you cannot live without.
- A hyphenated dyad implies an old corporation founded by two dynasties — instant backstory.
- Pair the tagline with the name in dialogue; a board member quoting the slogan is shorthand for the company’s whole ideology.
- Names are coined from finite banks, so reroll for fresh options and always check trademarks before any real-world use.
