Getting Snapchat branding crisp means matching each asset’s exact pixel size and respecting how the app crops it. A square avatar is masked into a circle, the hero banner is full-screen vertical, and a Sponsored Filter is a tightly size-capped transparent overlay. This tool returns the correct figures for each so your uploads never look soft or clipped.
How it works
Each asset carries Snapchat’s recommended upload dimensions, and the tool derives a sensible minimum and shows the crop behaviour.
profile avatar = 1000 × 1000 (1:1, masked to a circle)
public profile icon = 1080 × 1080 (1:1, masked to a circle)
hero banner = 1080 × 1920 (9:16, full screen)
sponsored filter = 1080 × 2340 transparent PNG, ≤ 300 KB
minimum upload = recommended ÷ 2
Uploading at the recommended size avoids the soft, upscaled look you get when Snapchat enlarges an undersized image.
Tips and notes
For circular avatars and icons, centre your logo or face and leave a margin so nothing important reaches the corners that the circle mask removes. For the hero banner, treat the top 150 pixels and bottom 250 pixels as off-limits for text because the profile chip and navigation sit there. For Sponsored Filters, stay under the 300 KB cap and keep the entire centre transparent so the user’s photo shows through — you can verify clearance with the Snapchat Safe Zone Guide.
