How is total gold per method calculated?

Total gold equals the base rate times your efficiency multiplier times the hours farmed. The effective hourly rate is the base rate times the multiplier, which is what the ranking uses.

What does the efficiency multiplier represent?

It captures gear, skill levels, professions, and movement speed that make a method faster or slower than the baseline. A value of 1.0 is the listed base rate; 2.0 means you earn double per hour.

Why do my real numbers differ from the baseline?

Baseline rates are rough averages. Your seeds, tool tier, luck, and routing all change real output, so edit each method's base rate to match your measured runs for accuracy.

Should I always pick the top-ranked method?

Not necessarily. The ranking shows raw gold per hour, but consider energy cost, upfront investment, and enjoyment. The most profitable method on paper can still be tedious.

Can I add my own farming method?

Yes, you can edit any row's name and base rate to model your own route, then compare it directly against the standard methods in the ranking.

How it works

For each method the effective rate is:

effective rate = base rate × efficiency multiplier

and projected earnings for your session are:

total gold = effective rate × hours

The tool sorts every method by effective rate (highest first) so the top entry is your best gold-per-hour option for the gear level you entered. Because you control both the base rate and the multiplier, you can model gear upgrades by raising the multiplier and instantly see how the ranking shifts.

Tips and example

If a method lists 8,000 g/hour at baseline and your efficiency is 1.5, your effective rate is 12,000 g/hour, so a 3-hour session yields 36,000 g. Always measure one real run and edit the base rate — seed choice, tool tier, and routing matter more than any single multiplier. Factor in energy and upfront cost before committing to the top-ranked method.
