Does the tally counter save my count?

Yes. Every counter and its total are stored in your browser, so if you close the tab and come back later on the same device, your counts are still there.

A tally counter (also called a click counter or hand counter) lets you keep a running count of anything just by tapping a button. This online version replaces the little metal clicker — and unlike the physical kind, it remembers your total between visits and lets you run several counts side by side.

Count anything, hands-free of paper

People use a tally counter for all sorts of everyday counting jobs:

  • Events and venues — counting people through a door or capacity in a room.
  • Fitness — reps, sets, laps, or rounds without losing your place.
  • Inventory and stock-takes — counting items into boxes or off a shelf.
  • Crafts — knitting and crochet row counting.
  • Study and faith — repetitions, recitations, or breaths.
  • Games and scoring — keeping score across rounds.

Multiple counters, each independent

Tracking two things at once — like reps and sets, or “in” and “out” — is the most common reason people reach for a counter. Add as many as you need; each keeps its own name, total and step size, and resets independently.

Your counts are saved privately

Each counter writes its total to your browser’s local storage as you go. Close the tab, restart the browser, come back tomorrow — your counts are still there. Because the data stays on your device and is never uploaded, it is completely private.

Step size for counting in batches

Set the step to 1 for a normal count, or to 2, 5, 10 or any number to count in batches — useful for money, packaging, or scoring systems that move in fixed increments.

Need a random number instead of a manual count? Try the random number generator, dice roller, or coin flip.
