Terraria’s economy runs on copper, silver, gold, and platinum coins, and how fast you accumulate them depends almost entirely on which enemies you farm and how quickly your gear can kill them. This calculator ranks the popular farming routes by coins per hour for your specific progression stage, so you spend your session on the route that actually pays best.
How it works
Every route carries two numbers: a base kill rate at average gear and an average coin-plus-loot value per kill, expressed in copper.
kills/hour = baseKillsPerHour × gearMultiplier
copper/hour = kills/hour × avgCopperPerKill
total = copper/hour × hours
Coins are base-100: 100 copper makes a silver, 100 silver a gold, and 100 gold a
platinum. The tool converts the raw copper total into that readable p g s c
format. Your gear multiplier ranges from roughly 0.45 at early pre-boss gear up
to 3.0 once you have post-Moon Lord equipment, reflecting how much faster you
clear rooms as you progress.
Tips and notes
Statue and meteor-head farms dominate early because their enemies are weak and spawn extremely fast. Later, event waves and pillar mobs overtake them because each kill drops far more sellable loot. To push past the baseline, stack a Battle Potion and Water Candle to raise spawn rates, and wear the Greedy Ring or carry a Lucky Coin to multiply the coins each enemy drops. Numbers here assume average loot luck and no coin-multiplier accessories, so they are a safe lower bound.
