Threads profile & image sizes
Threads keeps things simple: there is no large cover banner, so your profile picture, bio and link do the branding work, and your post images carry the visual content. This tool lists the exact pixel dimensions, aspect ratios and safe zones for each so your assets stay crisp and uncropped.
How it works
Threads displays the profile picture as a circle cut from a square upload, so the recommended export is a square at least 320×320 px with the important content kept inside the circular safe zone (roughly the central 80%). Post images are shown at their native aspect ratio within supported bounds — portrait 4:5 fills the most feed space, while square 1:1 and landscape 1.91:1 are also accepted. The tool maps each asset to its target pixels and minimum upload size.
Tips & notes
- Export profile pictures at 2× (e.g. 640×640 px) for sharpness on retina phones.
- Keep logos and faces centred — the circular crop hides the corners.
- For posts,
1080×1350portrait is the highest-impact size in the feed. - Use JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with text; keep files under 8 MB.
