Final Fantasy XIV Crafting Material Cost Calculator

Total your recipe materials, yield, and per-item cost before you craft

Add each material in a Final Fantasy XIV recipe with its quantity and unit price to get the total crafting cost, then divide by your craft yield and compare against a market sell price to see profit per item before you spend resources.

How is the total crafting cost worked out?

The tool multiplies each material's quantity by its unit price and adds them together. Five iron ore at 20 gil plus two coke at 50 gil totals 100 + 100 = 200 gil for the craft's materials.

Before you sink gil and time into a craft, you want to know what it costs and whether it sells for more than that. This calculator totals every material in a Final Fantasy XIV recipe, breaks the cost down per finished item, and shows your profit against a market sell price.

How it works

Each material contributes quantity × unit price; the sum is the craft cost. Dividing by yield gives the cost per item, and subtracting that from the sell price gives profit:

total cost = Σ (quantity × unit price)
cost per item = total cost / yield
profit per item = sell price − cost per item

For materials that are themselves crafted, enter their real make cost as the unit price so the total captures the whole crafting chain, not just the final synthesis.

Example and tips

A recipe needing 5 iron ore at 20 gil and 2 coke at 50 gil costs 5×20 + 2×50 = 200 gil and yields 3 ingots, so each ingot costs about 67 gil. If ingots sell for 120 gil, your pre-tax profit is roughly 53 gil each. Subtract the market board tax before entering the sell price to see your true take-home margin.
