How are demon names generated?

Each core name is assembled from syllable fragments inspired by Semitic, Latin, and invented occult phonology, then optionally suffixed with a rank title such as the Devourer or Prince of Cinders. Syllable counts vary to keep the rhythm unpredictable.

Are these names from real grimoires?

No. The fragments evoke the harsh, guttural style of grimoire demonology but the names are procedurally invented, so they will not collide with named entities from any specific mythos or copyrighted work.

What does the rank selector change?

Rank weights the title pool. A lord draws grand titles like Sovereign of the Pit, while an imp tends toward smaller, sneering titles. The core name syllables stay the same across ranks.

Can I get names without a title?

Yes. Turn off the title toggle to get bare core names like Azgrathol or Vex'morr, which work well for lesser fiends or when you want to add your own epithet.

Is any data uploaded?

No. All syllable and title data is bundled in the page and combined locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server or stored.

How it works

The generator holds three pools of syllable fragments — openings, middles, and endings — drawn from Semitic, Latin, and invented occult phonology. For each name it picks a random number of fragments (two to four), occasionally inserting an apostrophe for a guttural break, then capitalises the result. If titles are enabled, it appends a rank-weighted infernal title. The batch is ordered by a Fisher–Yates shuffle so repeated clicks vary the output.

Tips and example

A lord might emerge as Azgaroth, Sovereign of the Pit; an imp as Vex'kor the Gnawing.
The apostrophe break (as in Mal'phazoth) reads as alien and is great for higher-ranked entities.
Generate with titles off to harvest raw core names, then hand-craft your own epithets for named bosses.
