Card Game Name Generator

Snappy names for card game designs

A card game name has to fit a small box and a big shelf at once, so it rewards something short, punchy, and on-format. This tool draws on the vocabulary that fills real card-game catalogues and assembles format-matched names you can shortlist in seconds.

How it works

Each generated name is built from format-specific word pools so the tone matches the play experience. The generator picks a format, then chooses words only from that format’s lists. About 40 percent of the time it produces an adjective-plus-noun name such as Astral Legends, around 30 percent it adds a subtitle such as Trick: the Card Game, and the rest are single evocative words. Trading card games pull from epic, collectible vocabulary, trick-taking from court and trump language, deck-builders from engine and combo words, and party games from irreverent banter words. Results are de-duplicated within each batch.

Tips and notes

  • Party-game names can be cheeky, but keep them retail-safe if you want shelf placement in family stores.
  • A clear subtitle that names the format, such as “the Party Game,” helps buyers know what they are getting at a glance.
  • Always search existing titles and a trademark register before committing — a generated name is only a starting point for a real publication.
