Every good conspiracy needs a name that whispers of hidden power — the Order of the Crimson Eye, the Silent Brotherhood of the Veil. This free generator assembles secret society and fraternal order names from themed word banks blending mystical titles, symbolic animals and objects, and pseudo-Latin roots. It is built for thriller writers, occult fiction, screenwriters, and tabletop RPG game masters who need a clandestine order on demand.
How it works
Each name is assembled from slots drawn from a style-specific word bank:
- A title word — Order, Brotherhood, Circle, Lodge, Cabal, Sodality, or Covenant.
- An optional connector such as “of the”.
- A symbol — an animal, object, or mystical concept (Serpent, Flame, Veil, Eye, Key, Dawn).
- In Latin-flavoured mode, a pseudo-Latin root is appended for scholarly atmosphere.
Selection is random across finite word banks, so each press of Generate reshuffles every slot. The styles control which banks are used, giving Ancient Order an archaic feel, Brotherhood a fraternal one, and Latin-flavoured a scholarly occult tone.
Tips and notes
- Pair a sinister symbol (Serpent, Ash, Hollow) with a formal title for menace, or a noble symbol (Dawn, Compass, Oak) for a benevolent order.
- Recurring sigils help readers track factions — keep one society’s symbol consistent across your story.
- Latin-flavoured names read well for ancient, scholarly, or church-adjacent orders.
- Everything runs locally with no API call, so reroll as many times as you like.
