Which functions are supported?

The calculator supports + − × ÷, powers (^), factorials (!), parentheses, the constants pi and e, and the functions sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, ln, log, sqrt, abs, and exp.

Does it use eval or run any remote code?

No — expressions are parsed with a safe custom parser, never JavaScript eval, and nothing is sent to a server.

How do I switch between degrees and radians?

Use the degrees checkbox. When checked, trig functions treat inputs and outputs in degrees; when unchecked, they use radians.

What is the difference between log and ln?

In this calculator log is the base-10 logarithm and ln is the natural logarithm (base e). So log(100) is 2 and ln(e) is 1.

How do I raise a number to a power?

Use the caret. For example 2^10 evaluates to 1024, and 9^0.5 is the square root of 9, which is 3.

Does it handle order of operations?

Yes. It follows standard precedence — powers first, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction — and you can use parentheses to override the order.

How it works

You type a complete expression rather than pressing one button at a time. The input is read by a safe custom parser that respects standard operator precedence (powers before multiplication and division, those before addition and subtraction) and parentheses. It never uses JavaScript eval, so a typo can only produce an error, never run code. A degrees/radians toggle controls how the trig functions interpret their inputs.

Example

With the degrees toggle on, entering (3 + 4) * sqrt(16) - log(100) evaluates as 7 × 4 − 2 = 26. Switch to radians and sin(pi / 2) returns 1.
