Threads Engagement Rate Calculator

Calculate true Threads engagement rate the way brands measure it.

Enter follower count, likes, replies, reposts and quotes to compute your Threads engagement rate using the formula brands and agencies use, with a per-post breakdown and benchmark comparison by account size.

How do you calculate Threads engagement rate?

The standard formula is total engagements divided by followers, times 100. On Threads, total engagements means likes plus replies plus reposts plus quotes. If you measure several posts, divide the summed engagements by the number of posts first to get an average per post.

Threads engagement rate calculator

Engagement rate is the single number brands ask for, and it is simply the share of your audience that interacts with your content. This calculator adds up your Threads interactions — likes, replies, reposts and quotes — and divides by your follower count, the same way agencies report it, then tells you whether the result is below, around, or above typical benchmarks.

How it works

The standard formula is:

engagement rate = (likes + replies + reposts + quotes) ÷ followers × 100

If you enter totals across several posts, the tool first divides by the number of posts to get the average engagements per post, then applies the formula so your rate is comparable to single-post figures. Because Threads shows content to non-followers, rates can exceed 100% on posts that reach far beyond your audience — that is expected, not a bug.

Example

An account with 10,000 followers whose post earned 220 likes, 40 replies, 25 reposts and 15 quotes:

  • total engagements = 220 + 40 + 25 + 15 = 300
  • engagement rate = 300 ÷ 10,000 × 100 = 3.0% (strong)

Tips & notes

  • Compare like-for-like: follower-based rates only, not mixed with reach-based.
  • Benchmarks: ~1–3% average, 3–6% strong, 6%+ excellent; smaller accounts skew higher.
  • Average several posts for a stable number rather than judging on one viral hit.
