World of Warcraft Gold / Currency Farm Rate

Compare farming methods and rank them by gold per hour

Add World of Warcraft farming methods with their gold or currency per run and average run time, optionally scaled by a gear-efficiency multiplier. The tool computes gold per hour for each method, ranks them, and projects your total over your available play time.

How is gold per hour calculated?

Gold per run is divided by run time in hours, which is minutes divided by 60. The result is then multiplied by your gear-efficiency multiplier so faster clears at higher gear show their true rate.

The best farming spot is not the one with the biggest single payout — it is the one with the highest rate. This calculator converts gold-per-run and run-time into gold per hour for each method, ranks them, and projects your session total.

How it works

For each method the hourly rate is:

gold per hour = (gold per run / (run minutes / 60)) × gear multiplier

Methods are sorted by this rate. The session projection multiplies the best (or your chosen) rate by your available hours:

session total = gold per hour × hours available

The gear multiplier scales all methods together, modelling faster clears from better equipment.

Example and tips

A 400-gold route that takes 6 minutes runs at 4000 gold/hour and beats a 1000-gold route that takes 30 minutes (2000 gold/hour), even though the second pays more per run. Always think in per-hour terms. Account for travel and reset time in your run-minutes figure, and re-measure occasionally — markets and route density change, and a route that was best last patch may not be now.
