Old School RuneScape Time-to-Max-Level Calculator

Estimate how long it takes to hit max level in Old School RuneScape

Input your current level, daily play hours, and levelling method to get a realistic forecast of days and total hours to reach level 99. Uses the genuine Old School RuneScape XP curve and per-method XP rates. Runs in your browser.

What XP curve does this use?

It uses the official Old School RuneScape experience table, where the XP to reach a level grows by roughly 10 percent per level. Level 99 requires about 13 million experience, which is why the final levels take so long even at high XP rates.

Reaching level 99 in Old School RuneScape is a long grind, and the exponential XP curve means the last few levels dwarf the early ones. This calculator forecasts the total hours and calendar days to max a skill at your chosen pace.

How it works

It reads the genuine Old School RuneScape XP table — where each level needs about 10 percent more experience than the last — to find the experience between your current level and level 99, then divides by your method’s rate:

xp remaining = totalXp(99) − totalXp(current level)
total hours = xp remaining / xp per hour
days = total hours / hours per day

Level 99 sits at roughly 13 million total experience, which is why even fast methods can take dozens of hours.

Example and tips

Going from level 80 to 99 leaves the majority of the 13-million-XP grind ahead of you, because most of the curve’s experience lives in the top levels. At a high method rate of around a million XP per hour you might finish in a couple of dozen hours, while a slower 250k-per-hour method stretches it into the hundreds. Pick the highest sustainable XP rate you can focus on, and remember that consistent daily hours finish a skill far sooner than occasional long sessions.
